‘Celeste’ by Seema Gujral is inspired by the pure magic of Indian weddings under a starry night sky embellished with a thousand lamps of twinkling lights. The Summer ’21 collection is designed to transport you to another time and place. It transcends you to an auspicious occasion like a wedding, a once in a lifetime moment that is bright, beautiful and memorable. A sparkling night with a celestial ambience, like the glow of the moon and the twinkle of the stars - all captured into a collection that is completely awe inspiring. Every ensemble evokes a sense of timelessness, captivating and taking us to a world of imagination.
Every outfit showcases intricate embroidered embellishments with a palette inspired by the celestial sky, ranging from pastel shades such as powder blue and peach to neutral colours like caramel, cream, and coffee, to deep hues like red, charcoal, and navy blue. The use of sequin and crystal embroidery, heavily tasselled blouses, embroidered belts and dramatic net dupattas, all in a riot of rich colours, reflects the sublime nature around us.
Speaking about the launch of her latest labour of love, Couturier Seema Gujral said "Celeste is inspired by the feeling of reaching for the sky - a canvas of glory. Through this collection we wanted to depict our perception of the heavens and the nature of the night sky that surrounds us. We hope this collection takes you to that dream and our world of imagination.”
This collection centres around progressive Indian wear featuring outfits with a contemporary and fresh take on traditional ensembles like lehengas, gowns, and three-piece outfits featuring tapered pants, cropped tops and flowy open jackets. The fluidity and the timelessness of the dusky sky is an inspiration for our silhouettes. With a myriad selection of ensembles, we hope to bring forth a collection that has something for every wedding function.
